Join the College of Chiropractors of Alberta (CCOA) for “The Role of Evidence for the Chiropractic Profession” webinar on April 19, 2023, 12:00-1:00 p.m. CCOA Registrar Dr. Todd Halowski welcomes Dr. Steven Passmore, Associate Professor, University of Manitoba for a lively discussion on evidence-based chiropractic care.
In this webinar, Dr. Passmore, who is a researcher and clinician, will share a presentation illustrating the role of evidence for the chiropractic profession.
Dr. Halowski and Dr. Passmore will also address these questions for regulated members:
- What impact will evidence-based practice have on your practice and patients?
- How will evidence-based practice change your patient care?
About Dr. Passmore:
Dr. Steven Passmore is an Associate Professor at the University of Manitoba, and an Adjunct Faculty member of the Northeast College of Health Sciences Research Department. He practiced as a WOC chiropractor at the VA Western New York Health Care System (2007-09), treating veterans with chronic pain conditions and complex comorbidities alongside a multidisciplinary team. He currently practices at the Wellness Institute at Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
He maintains an active grant-funded research program and supervises undergraduate, Masters and PhD trainees. He has published more than 50 peer reviewed journal articles. He served on the Canadian Chiropractic Guideline Initiative (CCGI) guideline development committee for the creation of three clinical practice guidelines. In 2019, he was appointed by Health Canada to a three-year term on the External Advisory Panel of the Canadian Pain Task Force (CPTF). In 2020, he was named "Researcher of the Year" by the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA).

It means integrating individual clinical expertise with the best available external clinical research to better serve both the practitioner and patient.
